I'll be in two classes this term at Southern: a seminar on James Joyce and a workshop on poetry with Vivian Shipley. It's going to be a lot of work! But I am looking forward to it.
Southern's MFA web site is at http://www.southernct.edu/creativewriting/
The Working Group in Contemporary Poetry (WGCP) is meeting again at Yale. The first meetings are on Pierre Alferi's book _Oxo_.

2010 The John Holmes Award
I won the 2010 The John Holmes Award of the New England Poetry Club. That's cool. There was a bit of a mix up and I never got a letter from them. I had even forgotten that I had sent in 5 poems for the contest in May. So I missed the awards reading in June in Cambridge at the Longfellow House. I would have loved to done that reading.
The NEPC is online at http://www.nepoetryclub.org/ and the announcement of the award is at http://www.nepoetryclub.org/contests2010.htm#students
They listed my college as "North Haven College." That's pretty funny. I live in North Haven, but I'm in the MFA program at Southern Connecticut State University. I'll get them to correct that soon. I haven't heard from them, yet. I'm working on that. I don't even know which of the poems I sent won the award. More on this later.

I won the 2010 Leo Connellan Prize for the poem "The Catfish." Wow. I can't believe it.
